nurture
you

Your body is the temple of You...
how well do you treat it?

Most of us spend our lives in an unconscious state of just doing... with our focus on what is happening in our lives or what is happening in other peoples lives. Very little time is spent on and with ourselves.

© Jennifer KingWhen we do "look after ourselves", it is generally in a controlling and superficial way of closely watching what we eat and making sure we exercise... all with the aim of "looking good" and "being healthy". We are in a relative state of unconsciousness towards ourselves as we sculpt and adjust our physical appearance to resemble something that is considered desirable and pleasing (especially to others)... much like a gardener trims and shapes a hedge.

Be aware of your feelings and thoughts. Is there a sense of love and nurturing for you and your body? Your body, your being, is waiting for you to give conscious attention and love to your whole self.

Are you true to yourself, or do you compromise yourself in order to keep others happy? Do you compromise to keep the peace, to avoid conflict? Do you modify yourself so that you do not shock people?

Why not live each day for you... not for someone else. When you follow your heart and your truth your energy will flow easily. When you can love and honour yourself, others will too.

Why not begin a love affair with You?

Spend quality time with yourself, enjoying long luxurious baths;
walks in nature or just sitting in nature,
breathing in the scents and sounds which surround you.
Take the time to enjoy the beauty and wonder in the sky
as you watch the clouds and stars pass by.
Enjoy delicious meals prepared with love.
Inhale deeply the fragrance within a bloom of roses.
Buy yourself presents. Listen to beautiful music. Treat yourself well.
All done with full conscious awareness of you.

When you lie down at night, feel the body temple you live in, and send warm loving energy to every part of it. Talk to your body, thank it for all it does for you. Let it know that you care.

And of course... Breathe often... deeply and gently!

"Health is not the mere absence of disease;
it is a state of physical, psychological, emotional,
and spiritual well-being.
Health is a higher state of consciousness,
in which we recognise that the same field of intelligence
that underlies our life underlies every living being.
To achieve this state it is important that we feel loved,
nourished, secure, contented, and happy."
