connect easily with your inner peace and wisdom feel calm in the face of daily problems have compassion for yourself and others live life to its fullest potential experience health and happiness return to a state of harmony, ease and grace ![]() Through conscious breathing you can get back in touch with your 'beingness', you can clear your mind of unwanted thoughts and the emotions you attach to them. Create for yourself a life of freedom to be in the moment, not a life of looking outside of yourself for happiness. Discover who you really are, not who you "think you are'. We breathe in not only air but energy, or life force. We breathe out air and toxins from the body. 70% of the body's toxins are eliminated by the breath. Normal breath is automatic - we are not thinking about it. Automatic breath allows us to 'survive' not 'live'. When you are hurt, upset, angry or stressed you usually stop breathing, tense up, hold your breath and the trauma in your body. Just take a few minutes to sit and observe your breath. Is it shallow? Is it hard to breathe? Are you out of breath? Where is the breath? Is it just in your chest? Do you even notice your breath? Do you feel chronically tired, anxious? This comes about from not using your breath to energise your body. The more time you spend 'in your head' the more energy you are draining from your body. It is important to remember to breathe to replenish your 'being'. When your life force is jammed, your breath wont flow well through your body, and that can cause a general decline in your health. Poor breathing not only makes our neck and shoulders tense, but studies have shown a correlation between upper chest breathing and heart disease. Poor breathing can also result in poor performance and even childhood learning disabilities. |
